“You know you’re in love when you can’t fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.” – Dr Seuss

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer’s lease hath all too short a date . . . .

Shakespear “Sonnet 18,” 1–4

Symbol for endless love!

Posted on: January 11th, 2012 | by Supplize | No Comments

Seeing that we at Supplize do so many weddings, we like to look at various love symbols throughout the world and to share with our readers what these symbols mean. Today we share the Mystic Knot – that symbolises endless love….ahhhh so apt for couples getting married!

The mystic knot is a Chinese symbol that represents long life, uninterrrupeted by separations and heartbreak! It is also known as a lucky knot and is extreemly popular. It is significant in feng shui and an easy to use motif that can be incorporated into the design patterns of doors or furniture (think your own love bed)! Just think how you can incorporate it into your wedding decor, or able centerpieces?  Most widly used as the symbol for undying love, it is suitable for ensuring that the romance in a marriage will last. Furthermore, it stands for no beginning and no end, and I really think it is stunning to use!

Who out there has used the mystic knot to symbolise endless love?? Would love to hear your comments.

Troubles? What Troubles….

Posted on: December 16th, 2010 | by Supplize | No Comments

Just as we start to put the breaks on for 2010 – but then at the same time get the skates on for 2011, I thought I would share this short little extract I came upon today!

It is light reading but I thought it befitting for this time of year.

I hired a carpenter to help me restore an old farmhouse. After he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric saw quit, and now his ancient pickup truck refused to start. While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching tips of the branches with both hands. When opening the door, he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
“Oh, that’s my trouble tree,” he replied. “I know I can’t help having troubles on the job, but one thing’s for sure, troubles don’t belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home. Then in the morning I pick them up again. Funny thing is,” he smiled, “when I come out in the morning to pick them up, there aren’t nearly as many as I remembered hanging up the night before.”

Merry Christmas to you!

Today’s Hot Tip for Choosing the Ultimate Elegant Centrepiece!

Ultimate Elegant Centrepiece

If I could have a $ each time in the day I get asked about Centrepiece ideas and “what would look good on my tables?”, I would be a very rich lady indeed.

That is why I decided to share the insights of past and present brides and event organisers and help make the process so much easier and less painful!

Golden Tip -
“Go with candle light”….ultimately there is no substitute when it comes to setting the mood – candles are the ONLY way to go.

And from my point of view you can never have too many candles! Zaza Gabor said “A woman can never be too skinny or too rich”, and Supplize Decor Hire www.supplize.com.au says “you can never have too many candles at any (esp night time) function!”.

However you don’t have to fall in the trap of only putting t-lights on a table and leaving it at that! Get creative and play with different heights, put t-light holders on top of each other to create variations. This is always appealing, yet so cost effective. In fact all it costs is a bit of imagination.

Here’s another sneaky tip – use gel balls to magic effect too! Not only do they not melt when using them with t-lights but they make the candle holder just look that touch different.

Now speaking of gel balls, if it is a subtle splash of colour you are after on the table, use coloured gel balls in a t-light holder or vase and then put the t-light nestled in the gel balls.

Another gem of an idea whilst just sticking to t-lights is using them as floating candles. In my experience with events, “floating candles” never work, they always bob like crazy and put themselves out in the water! But t-light float like a dream. Try it you will be amazed.

So to re-cap our candle light tips for amazing elegant centrepieces:

  • use many candles, the more the better,
  • use t-lights but vary the heights to create a super effect,
  • try gel balls, clear or coloured ones within your t-light holders to great effect.
  • forget floating candles, use t-lights as floating candles to great effect.

Remember to still be candle smart and use wisely. Even t-light candles generate enough heat to start a substantial fire.

But we know you will love the candle look, feel free to share some further candle tips with us and our readers.
More candle tips to follow as we still have more amazing tricks of the trade to pass on to you.

Happy Candeling.

Creating the Ideal Balance

Posted on: October 18th, 2010 | by Supplize | No Comments

Recently my husband and I stumbled upon the magic healing elements of Five Element Acupunture! For those of you who’s eyebrows just lifted a notch or two hear me out okay!

What a revelation, not only on how simple yet vital such healing has been to us. No funny business involved just pure good old common sense, something which we as a married couple let fly out the door the last while.

Underlining message: get back into nature and nature will help balance you time and time again.

True to his message, practitioner Neale Svenson’s consulation rooms are set amongts stunning forest and a blanket of of tree green….you already feel better just being there.

Hubby found out he was ruled by a Fire element and me by the Earth. For those of you still wondering about all of this, basically you take all the elements of nature:

FIRE
EARTH
METAL
WATER
WOOD

and make sure that they work in harmony – one feeding the next – but in the natural pathway they were meant to work in.

So when you are feeling a bit off colour or like you are missing the beat, get back into nature. You will be surprised at how quickly it corrects itself or tells you intuitively what your body, mind and sprit requires.

Magic stuff. You are seriously missing out if you don’t give it a try.

More on this later, but in the mean time think back to the past two days….have you let nature heal you? We would love to hear your stories.

Later
Adele
