If I could have a $ each time in the day I get asked about Centrepiece ideas and “what would look good on my tables?”, I would be a very rich lady indeed.
That is why I decided to share the insights of past and present brides and event organisers and help make the process so much easier and less painful!
Golden Tip -
“Go with candle light”….ultimately there is no substitute when it comes to setting the mood – candles are the ONLY way to go.
And from my point of view you can never have too many candles! Zaza Gabor said “A woman can never be too skinny or too rich”, and Supplize Decor Hire www.supplize.com.au says “you can never have too many candles at any (esp night time) function!”.
However you don’t have to fall in the trap of only putting t-lights on a table and leaving it at that! Get creative and play with different heights, put t-light holders on top of each other to create variations. This is always appealing, yet so cost effective. In fact all it costs is a bit of imagination.
Here’s another sneaky tip – use gel balls to magic effect too! Not only do they not melt when using them with t-lights but they make the candle holder just look that touch different.
Now speaking of gel balls, if it is a subtle splash of colour you are after on the table, use coloured gel balls in a t-light holder or vase and then put the t-light nestled in the gel balls.
Another gem of an idea whilst just sticking to t-lights is using them as floating candles. In my experience with events, “floating candles” never work, they always bob like crazy and put themselves out in the water! But t-light float like a dream. Try it you will be amazed.
So to re-cap our candle light tips for amazing elegant centrepieces:
- use many candles, the more the better,
- use t-lights but vary the heights to create a super effect,
- try gel balls, clear or coloured ones within your t-light holders to great effect.
- forget floating candles, use t-lights as floating candles to great effect.
Remember to still be candle smart and use wisely. Even t-light candles generate enough heat to start a substantial fire.
But we know you will love the candle look, feel free to share some further candle tips with us and our readers.

Happy Candeling.
