Revenge tonight on TV

Posted on: March 19th, 2012 | by Supplize | No Comments

Right, I am not the biggest TV fan by far, however there is one exception I make and I do it “in the name of Supplize research”. Take a peek at Revenge tonight on TV (I forget the channel?)…due to the fact that these socialites have nothing better to do than host party after party after party…their decor hire ideas are STUNNING! Sorry, know I should not write in caps, but really their trends are fantastic. So wishing that Brisbane’s clients will start cottoning on to their ideas. Number one note, in the programme, there are always charger plates (under plates)! Always it is the starting point for any function in the USA. Also their table cloths go to the ground and normally they use Damask (like Supplize does). Hello, none of this pokey let me see the legs of the tables very low standard stuff. Come on Brisbane and GC? Why are we not seeing the value in stunning goodies on offer? Also in Revenge their centrepieces are inspiring and fun to look at. Ladies, if you are planning an end of year function or doing a really upmarket and elegant wedding, come on step it up! Surely for the once in a life time event you can avoid looking at the price tag just this once?
Enjoy the TV tonight!

How about this before and after?

Posted on: January 6th, 2012 | by Supplize | No Comments

Oh my goodness, what a great challenge! B105, Brisbane’s best radio station, and keep supporter of Supplize Decor Hire, phoned us up and gave the brief….”Please can you change our very gubby rec room into something worthy of a Perfume launch?”.  Duhh of course yet! Check out the first picture…before

Before Supplize got there!

So the brief was this:

A perfume launch – the breakfast team made their own scent = Woof!

Colour black and white!

Make it classy and sassy!

This is what we did….what do you think? Free standing silver candelabra, 1.8mt tall, white lanterns from the roof and black and white draping! Mwah

Now for the rest of the room….drum roll please!

Where Do You Find Sexy Skinny Tapered Candles?

Posted on: November 1st, 2010 | by Supplize | No Comments

So my candle tales continue…Remember I mentioned how much we enjoy working with candles, and the atmosphere and romantic mood they create? And how in the case of candles less is not more, but More is More!

Well we got the most amazing brief from a recent client. She wanted: “tall tapered skinny elegant pale pink candles”.

These candles were to go in small flower arrangements situated on the 5 arms of the crystal candelabras we had sourced for her too. So they had to have burn time but they also had to be petite!

Elegant got me thinking though, and our trusty Google friend was called into help with the search. You gotta love internet shopping – I surfed and surfed the waves of Australia, trying my hardest to find the exact fit. I was not going to compromise and sadly that which I had found to date did not fit the bill.
So again I thought Elegant, and one word sprung to mind – EUROPE! If anyone can do elegance and style it is the Europeans. And to be specific I found the most delightful skinny / slim elegant pale pink candles in Denmark.
A fantastic company called Erik & Ester in Silkeborg Denmark, came to my rescue. Go to www.ester-erik.dk for more stunning products, they are quick efficient and mighty polite. What a cool shopping experience.
Quality and colours to die (excuse the pun) for! It is official I am a convert and Ester & Erik fan for life.
Spread the news, find an agent near you and get your hands on the most sleek and sexy candles, you have ever laid your eyes on.
This Aussie is sold, let me hear your round of applause too!

Med Venlig Hilsen = Best Regards
(the benefits of international shopping – language lessons too!)

Today’s Hot Tip for Choosing the Ultimate Elegant Centrepiece!

Posted on: October 19th, 2010 | by Supplize | No Comments

Ultimate Elegant Centrepiece

If I could have a $ each time in the day I get asked about Centrepiece ideas and “what would look good on my tables?”, I would be a very rich lady indeed.

That is why I decided to share the insights of past and present brides and event organisers and help make the process so much easier and less painful!

Golden Tip -
“Go with candle light”….ultimately there is no substitute when it comes to setting the mood – candles are the ONLY way to go.

And from my point of view you can never have too many candles! Zaza Gabor said “A woman can never be too skinny or too rich”, and Supplize Decor Hire www.supplize.com.au says “you can never have too many candles at any (esp night time) function!”.

However you don’t have to fall in the trap of only putting t-lights on a table and leaving it at that! Get creative and play with different heights, put t-light holders on top of each other to create variations. This is always appealing, yet so cost effective. In fact all it costs is a bit of imagination.

Here’s another sneaky tip – use gel balls to magic effect too! Not only do they not melt when using them with t-lights but they make the candle holder just look that touch different.

Now speaking of gel balls, if it is a subtle splash of colour you are after on the table, use coloured gel balls in a t-light holder or vase and then put the t-light nestled in the gel balls.

Another gem of an idea whilst just sticking to t-lights is using them as floating candles. In my experience with events, “floating candles” never work, they always bob like crazy and put themselves out in the water! But t-light float like a dream. Try it you will be amazed.

So to re-cap our candle light tips for amazing elegant centrepieces:

  • use many candles, the more the better,
  • use t-lights but vary the heights to create a super effect,
  • try gel balls, clear or coloured ones within your t-light holders to great effect.
  • forget floating candles, use t-lights as floating candles to great effect.

Remember to still be candle smart and use wisely. Even t-light candles generate enough heat to start a substantial fire.

But we know you will love the candle look, feel free to share some further candle tips with us and our readers.
More candle tips to follow as we still have more amazing tricks of the trade to pass on to you.

Happy Candeling.

Blowing our Own Trumpet

Posted on: May 28th, 2010 | by Supplize | No Comments

So we are singing our own praises and sounding our own trumpet…but we are proud! Proud to be of service and to be in business. This is what a customer had to say:

Hi Adele

Well we got back to reality tonight and are now back on home soil. Great time, but feels really good to be home.

Thanks you so very much for doing such a wonderfully, beautiful job of the centrepieces and chair decorations. We were so, so happy – words can just not describe how we felt when we walked in and saw your beautiful work. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Thanks for the piccies too on FB. They came up trumps.
Take care Adele and you and your business will go so, so far with your style, flair and the quality of work you provide – especially on the most important day of ones life.

Cheers,
Kelly
